The people behind HNDL
Building the future of digital identity on Bitcoin
As the Founder & CXO of Study Bitcoin, Jvar is the mastermind behind HNDL — designing and building the entire platform from the ground up, including both the full-stack web application (frontend and backend) and the on-chain smart contract architecture.
What makes his technical contributions even more remarkable is that Jvar was never a programmer — not until the rise of AI tools like ChatGPT, that is. Prior to diving into development, he was a gym bro and construction worker, staying up-to-date with tech trends out of passion, not profession.
Driven by curiosity and determination, Jvar discovered a new skill: prompt engineering. As he began designing HNDL, he learned through trial and error, gradually understanding the code being generated and refining it to build a real-world product. Over time, he developed a deep grasp of development concepts, eventually writing and managing the entire HNDL codebase himself.
Today, Jvar is continuing his formal education by pursuing the IBM Full Stack Developer Certificate, along with other certifications, to strengthen his foundation in programming and software development. His journey reflects a powerful transformation — from tech enthusiast to hands-on builder — and continues to inspire those around him.
Cordy Joseph is the visionary CEO and co-founder of Study Bitcoin, with deep roots in the crypto space since 2017. In 2019, he launched a widely-read newsletter advocating for Bitcoin as the foundation of a more sovereign and decentralized internet.
Through Study Bitcoin, he co-created HNDL with Jvar—a handle-based identity protocol designed for the AI agent economy. HNDL bridges Web2 and Web3, giving users portable, decentralized names that anchor digital identity across platforms.
Cordy has championed Bitcoin-secured smart contracts via Rootstock and written extensively on the future of blockchain gaming and programmable Bitcoin.
He also leads Ecosystem Growth at FameGuild, where he helps build the Bitcoin-native creative economy by connecting creators, AI agents, and modular data systems.
From identity to imagination, Cordy is building the infrastructure to make Bitcoin personal, programmable, and human-first.
Xaniven is a skilled developer who contributed to the development of HNDL's smart contracts, ensuring security and efficiency in the protocol's core functionality.
Beyond frontend and backend contributions, Xaniven played a valuable role in reviewing the smart contract architecture, identifying potential flaws and edge cases. This feedback helped refine and improve the contract logic, increasing its security and efficiency.
With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of blockchain technology, Xaniven's contributions were instrumental in creating a robust and reliable system that powers the HNDL protocol.
